What is Profhilo®?
Profhilo® is one of the most talked-about skin treatments in aesthetics, and for good reason. It is made from a high concentration of pure hyaluronic acid, the same moisture-holding molecule your skin produces naturally but gradually loses with age.
Unlike dermal fillers, Profhilo® doesn't add volume or reshape your face. Once injected, it spreads gently beneath the skin, hydrating it deeply and stimulating your own collagen and elastin. The result is skin that looks smoother, firmer, brighter and more rested, while still looking completely like you.
At Maypark Dental, Profhilo® is offered as a dedicated face treatment, using a precise 10-point technique across the cheeks, lower face and jawline.

What to expect, step by step
Simple, comfortable and focused entirely on your face.
Skin consultation
We assess your skin, talk through your goals and medical history, and confirm Profhilo® is right for you. If it isn't, we'll tell you honestly.
Your face treatment
Your skin is cleansed and Profhilo® is placed at 10 precise points, five on each side, across the cheeks and lower face. It takes around 30 minutes.
Second session, 4 weeks later
For the best result, most patients have a course of two sessions spaced about four weeks apart. Your practitioner will advise what suits your skin.
Your glow, maintained
Skin keeps improving over the following weeks. Results typically last around six months, and many patients book a top-up session twice a year.

FAQs
Profhilo® questions, answered
Is Profhilo® a dermal filler?
No. Both use hyaluronic acid, but they work very differently. Fillers add volume and change shape. Profhilo® spreads evenly within the skin to hydrate it and improve its quality, so it won't change your facial features.
Which areas do you treat with Profhilo®?
At Maypark Dental we offer Profhilo® as a face treatment only, covering the cheeks, mid-face and lower face. We do not treat the neck, décolletage, hands or body.
Does the treatment hurt?
Most patients describe a brief stinging sensation at each point. With only 10 small injections across the whole face, the treatment is quick and very manageable.
When will I see results, and how long do they last?
Many patients notice fresher, more hydrated skin within a couple of weeks, with the fullest result usually seen a few weeks after the second session. Results typically last around six months, though this varies from person to person.
Is there any downtime or aftercare?
Small raised bumps at the injection points are normal and usually settle within a day. Mild redness or bruising is possible. For 24 hours, we advise avoiding makeup on the treated area, strenuous exercise, alcohol, saunas and pressure on the face. We'll give you full aftercare advice on the day.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Please arrive without makeup and tell us about any medicines or supplements you take. Some, like aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oils, can increase the chance of bruising, but never stop a prescribed medicine without speaking to your doctor first. If you're unwell or have a cold sore, let us know so we can reschedule.
Is Profhilo® suitable for everyone?
Not always. It isn't offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or where there is active infection or inflammation on the face. Your consultation includes a full medical history so we can make sure it's safe and right for you.
