The Oral Surgery service is run independently of the Practice at large, does not have registered patients and is carried out on dedicated treatment sessions only. Patients are however able to contact the Practice during opening hours, Monday to Friday.

You have been referred to us for Oral Surgery, either with or without sedation as it has been determined after assessment that you require treatment that your dentist is unable to provide.
We receive referrals from a central hub which we put onto a waiting list. When it is your turn, we will contact you, usually by text message, and invite you for an assessment appointment.
Your Assessment Appointment
Your assessment appointment will involve an examination, X-rays as necessary and a diagnosis. Your treatment options will be discussed with you and when you have agreed to have the treatment, a suitable appointment will be arranged. Occasionally, there may be a need to modify your treatment plan. Sometimes, when we find that you are better treated in a hospital setting, your referral will be forwarded there.
There will not be any treatment provided at the sedation assessment visit.
You do not have to pay for the treatment on referral if you are exempt from dental charges or have your treatment done with local anaesthetic only (i.e. without sedation).
If you do choose to have the treatment with sedation, there will be a Band 2 NHS Dental charge for the sedation service.
